About Childhelp Foster Family Agency of East Tennessee
The Childhelp Foster Family Agency of East Tennessee (FFA TN) opened its doors to fulfill its role in creating healthy, loving family relationships between the children who deserve them and the families that can provide them by actively recruiting, certifying and training foster families in Eastern Tennessee. FFA TN provides the following services: foster family certification, case management, free, on-going foster family training, crisis intervention, family & individual counseling, and respite services.
Position
Summary:
The Foster Care Certification Worker/Adoption Specialist is primarily responsible for the certification of resource/adoptive homes and compiling pre-adoptive documents. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment, home studies, record maintenance, and annual reassessments. This position works closely with the foster care staff in maintaining Child Welfare certification standards.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Works closely with Supervisor to develop recruitment plans identifying opportunities to promote resource parenting
Uses non-traditional methods to promote resource parenting
Reports on recruitment efforts, inquiries, and participants completing PATH training
Follows-up on inquiry calls for prospective foster parents
Participates in a minimum of one PATH class per session
Certification of resource/adoptive homes completed in three months from start to finish
Reports the status of resource homes in process weekly to Supervisor
Conducts bi-annual reassessments in a timely manner as determined by anniversary date
Reviews resource/adoptive parent records for compliance; and maintains accurate data in KaleidaCare system
Completes state required adoption paperwork on all Level 2 children
Maintains Child Welfare Licensing standards
Performs other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral services field
Ability to work independently, problem solve with minimal supervision, multi-task & meet deadlines
Ability to make good decisions regarding potential resource parents' needs and compliance with policy and state licensing
Possess concise grammatical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Qualifications:
Certified PATH Trainer
Trained in Profile of Parenting Study (POPS) for Home Study Writers
Experience in recruitment and retention of resource homes
2 years of experience in Foster Care Licensing Certification
Proficient in TFACTS and KaleidaCare systems
